Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Construction and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.84%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 5.37% or 3.72 points to trade at 73.00 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.65% or 4.32 points to end at 122.60 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 3.48% or 2.49 points to 73.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which fell 1.80% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.470 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 0.95% or 0.06 points to end at 6.27 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 0.72% or 0.06 points to 8.22.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 316 to 273 and 163 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.37% or 3.72 to 73.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.19% or 0.09 to $48.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.40 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.85 to trade at $1203.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.20% to 4.3298, while USD/PLN fell 0.04% to 4.0623.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.19.
