Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 9.24% or 5.80 points to trade at 68.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.48% or 0.130 points to end at 5.380 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 2.17% or 0.70 points to 32.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 1.18% or 0.040 points to trade at 3.350 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 1.10% or 74.85 points to end at 6720.00 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 0.97% or 0.53 points to 54.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 306 to 261 and 142 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.77% or 0.39 to $50.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.77% or 0.41 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.25 to trade at $1255.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.36% to 4.2466, while USD/PLN rose 0.32% to 3.9839.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.45.
