Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 4.71% or 5.05 points to trade at 112.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.75% or 1.79 points to end at 66.80 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 2.72% or 1.21 points to 45.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which fell 2.99% or 2.08 points to trade at 67.42 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 1.69% or 1.20 points to end at 69.80 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was down 1.33% or 0.85 points to 62.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 253 to 242 and 206 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.11% or 0.05 to $45.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.04% or 13.47 to trade at $1279.73 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.22% to 4.1982, while USD/PLN rose 0.15% to 3.7432.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 96.97.
