Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Banking and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 5.23% or 0.290 points to trade at 5.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 4.93% or 0.27 points to end at 5.75 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 3.58% or 4.07 points to 117.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which fell 1.81% or 0.96 points to trade at 52.22 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 1.61% or 3.30 points to end at 201.20 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 0.54% or 29.05 points to 5380.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 307 to 243 and 184 ended unchanged.
Shares in Synthos SA (WA:SNS) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 5.23% or 0.290 to 5.830. Shares in KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.58% or 4.07 to 117.65.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.40% or 0.74 to $53.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.96% or 0.53 to hit $55.76 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1212.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.06% to 4.3708, while USD/PLN rose 0.07% to 4.0641.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 100.07.
