Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.95% or 2.45 points to trade at 85.45 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.43% or 174.00 points to end at 7326.50 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.41% or 1.60 points to 68.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 2.13% or 0.50 points to trade at 22.95 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.11% or 4.00 points to end at 186.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 0.78% or 0.20 points to 25.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 320 to 235 and 125 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.95% or 0.56 to $59.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $65.61 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.52% or 6.20 to trade at $1188.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.0486, while USD/PLN rose 0.47% to 3.6069.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 94.77.
