Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 4.38% or 1.45 points to trade at 34.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 3.00% or 3.17 points to end at 108.67 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 2.06% or 2.50 points to 123.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which fell 1.75% or 0.80 points to trade at 44.90 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 1.47% or 0.070 points to end at 4.690 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 0.83% or 3.85 points to 460.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 243 to 239 and 189 ended unchanged.
Shares in Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.75% or 0.80 to 44.90.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.55% or 0.74 to $48.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.33% or 0.67 to hit $50.87 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.41 to trade at $1248.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.2537, while USD/PLN fell 0.15% to 3.6559.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 94.00.
