Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Chemicals and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 3.87% or 2.71 points to trade at 72.71 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 3.64% or 189.00 points to end at 5386.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 3.47% or 0.09 points to 2.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 2.07% or 0.32 points to trade at 15.15 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 1.57% or 0.52 points to end at 32.56 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 1.41% or 0.14 points to 9.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 252 to 248 and 174 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to all time lows; losing 1.41% or 0.14 to 9.80.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.92% or 0.44 to $48.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.43% or 0.21 to hit $48.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.67% or 20.85 to trade at $1230.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.44% to 4.4247, while USD/PLN rose 0.26% to 3.9707.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 95.59.
