Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 4.77% or 3.13 points to trade at 68.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 3.76% or 0.14 points to end at 3.86 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 3.60% or 1.51 points to 43.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 4.87% or 0.75 points to trade at 14.65 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 4.33% or 0.14 points to end at 3.09 and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) was down 3.10% or 2.15 points to 67.31.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 312 to 257 and 114 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to all time lows; down 4.87% or 0.75 to 14.65. Shares in Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.10% or 2.15 to 67.31.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.30% or 0.53 to $40.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.38% or 0.17 to hit $43.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.40 to trade at $1067.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.04% to 4.2470, while USD/PLN rose 0.12% to 3.9937.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 99.84.
