Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 7.83% or 5.85 points to trade at 80.53 at the close. Meanwhile, OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 2.30% or 0.12 points to end at 5.34 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 2.06% or 0.16 points to 7.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which fell 2.70% or 0.93 points to trade at 33.50 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 2.65% or 0.120 points to end at 4.410 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 1.75% or 1.00 points to 55.99.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 306 to 208 and 199 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.47% or 0.66 to $45.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.32% or 0.61 to hit $46.65 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.49% or 6.25 to trade at $1280.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.3466, while USD/PLN rose 1.08% to 3.9716.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 98.33.
