Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Banking and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 5.40% or 4.30 points to trade at 84.00 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.39% or 3.98 points to end at 121.48 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) was up 3.22% or 0.24 points to 7.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which fell 3.22% or 1.63 points to trade at 49.02 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 2.27% or 0.59 points to end at 25.41 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 1.25% or 2.90 points to 230.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 283 to 213 and 175 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.22% or 0.24 to 7.70.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.06% or 1.42 to $47.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.86% or 1.39 to hit $49.99 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1251.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.2578, while USD/PLN fell 0.25% to 3.6528.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.81.
