Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 5.64% or 2.73 points to trade at 51.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Kruk SA (WA:KRU) added 4.35% or 13.10 points to end at 314.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 4.04% or 0.130 points to 3.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which fell 3.67% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.720 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 2.51% or 1.71 points to end at 66.49 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was down 1.91% or 2.05 points to 105.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 279 to 240 and 175 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.66% or 0.80 to $49.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.26% or 0.64 to hit $51.40 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 8.40 to trade at $1263.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.40% to 4.1980, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7435.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 97.11.
