Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which rose 5.52% or 0.29 points to trade at 5.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 3.51% or 1.20 points to end at 35.40 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 2.53% or 9.10 points to 368.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 3.13% or 2.63 points to trade at 81.42 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 2.52% or 3.15 points to end at 121.93 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was down 2.39% or 0.110 points to 4.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 254 to 231 and 188 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.35% or 0.66 to $49.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.92% or 0.99 to hit $52.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.80 to trade at $1268.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.15% to 4.2548, while USD/PLN fell 0.43% to 3.6225.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 93.25.
