Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.18% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 4.30% or 0.43 points to trade at 10.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.31% or 1.65 points to end at 73.15 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.08% or 0.49 points to 24.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which fell 2.20% or 1.63 points to trade at 72.60 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.98% or 1.90 points to end at 93.91 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 1.56% or 2.10 points to 132.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 310 to 289 and 152 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.55% or 0.84 to $53.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.59% or 0.90 to hit $55.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 5.75 to trade at $1233.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.13% to 4.3009, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 4.0734.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 101.38.
