Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 3.79% or 3.60 points to trade at 98.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 2.70% or 0.95 points to end at 36.10 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 2.66% or 0.97 points to 37.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which fell 2.23% or 0.38 points to trade at 16.67 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.56% or 0.40 points to end at 25.20 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 1.54% or 0.88 points to 56.22.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 309 to 288 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.79% or 3.60 to 98.59.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.95% or 0.57 to $59.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.40% or 0.27 to hit $66.44 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1222.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.37% to 4.0524, while USD/PLN fell 0.61% to 3.5431.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 93.33.
