Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 2.16% or 1.47 points to trade at 69.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 2.13% or 0.15 points to end at 7.20 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 1.98% or 0.24 points to 12.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 4.04% or 2.74 points to trade at 65.01 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 1.97% or 2.15 points to end at 107.23 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 1.36% or 2.95 points to 214.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 272 to 227 and 190 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 4.32% or 2.08 to $46.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.39% or 1.70 to hit $48.42 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.62 to trade at $1291.88 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.2037, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7432.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 96.83.
