Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Banking and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 2.77% or 0.13 points to trade at 4.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 2.43% or 1.33 points to end at 56.00 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 2.19% or 9.60 points to 447.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 2.47% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.35 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 2.45% or 0.61 points to end at 24.27 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 1.96% or 8.35 points to 416.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 299 to 240 and 116 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.73% or 0.44 to $59.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.46% or 0.29 to hit $63.20 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1172.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.1711, while USD/PLN rose 0.05% to 3.7245.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.42.
