Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Media and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 3.45% or 1.33 points to trade at 39.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 2.96% or 0.69 points to end at 23.99 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.93% or 1.98 points to 69.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 1.91% or 0.27 points to trade at 13.88 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 1.65% or 0.21 points to end at 12.55 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was down 1.62% or 1.23 points to 74.72.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 256 to 242 and 171 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.48% or 0.59 to $39.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.84% or 0.34 to hit $40.13 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1220.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.2708, while USD/PLN rose 0.40% to 3.8235.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.18.
