Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Energy and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 3.41% or 1.72 points to trade at 52.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 3.06% or 2.73 points to end at 92.09 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 3.02% or 0.42 points to 14.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 13.61% or 6.49 points to trade at 41.21 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 2.88% or 216.45 points to end at 7294.30 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 2.20% or 3.80 points to 169.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 293 to 265 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.41% or 1.72 to 52.19.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.93% or 0.43 to $46.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.34% or 0.66 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.43% or 4.90 to trade at $1142.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.77% to 4.2477, while USD/PLN fell 1.17% to 3.8534.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 96.86.
