Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 5.82% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.91 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 4.01% or 213.55 points to end at 5543.55 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was up 1.97% or 6.85 points to 354.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 10.68% or 1.42 points to trade at 11.88 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 3.06% or 9.25 points to end at 292.95 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was down 2.17% or 1.59 points to 71.52.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 268 to 215 and 185 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 3.96% or 1.44 to $37.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.84% or 1.10 to hit $39.84 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1229.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.09% to 4.2933, while USD/PLN rose 0.32% to 3.8744.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 96.90.
