Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Technology and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.02% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 4.46% or 2.94 points to trade at 68.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 4.36% or 0.24 points to end at 5.74 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 4.21% or 4.04 points to 99.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which fell 2.63% or 1.74 points to trade at 64.51 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.58% or 0.40 points to end at 24.92 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 0.43% or 0.04 points to 9.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 292 to 274 and 162 ended unchanged.
Shares in KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.21% or 4.04 to 99.96.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.98% or 0.51 to $51.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.22% or 0.67 to hit $54.27 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1186.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.3708, while USD/PLN fell 0.13% to 4.1369.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 101.95.
