Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Property, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC), which rose 1.30% or 0.200 points to trade at 15.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Metropolitan B (PS:MBT) added 1.04% or 1.00 points to end at 97.20 and Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI) was up 0.94% or 1.00 points to 107.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which fell 5.59% or 0.660 points to trade at 11.140 at the close. Alliance Globa (PS:AGI) declined 5.48% or 1.400 points to end at 24.150 and Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) was down 4.09% or 53.000 points to 1243.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 130 to 59 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.94% or 1.00 to 107.00.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.21% or 2.50 to $1205.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.83% or 0.47 to hit $57.80 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.30 to trade at $63.76 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.36% to 7.1204, while USD/PHP fell 0.27% to 44.160.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.78.
