Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Mining & Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which rose 3.75% or 0.240 points to trade at 6.640 at the close. Meanwhile, Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) added 2.63% or 6.200 points to end at 242.000 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 1.97% or 0.090 points to 4.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which fell 3.28% or 1.000 points to trade at 29.500 at the close. Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) declined 2.99% or 0.170 points to end at 5.520 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) was down 2.81% or 28.000 points to 967.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 97 to 92 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) rose to all time highs; up 2.63% or 6.200 to 242.000.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.52% or 6.85 to $1320.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.22% or 0.61 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.31% or 0.67 to trade at $50.65 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.24% to 7.0828, while USD/PHP rose 0.17% to 47.100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.77.
