Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 4.98% or 88.00 points to trade at 1854.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) added 2.39% or 1.700 points to end at 72.700 and BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) was up 2.33% or 3.50 points to 153.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Manila Electric Co (PS:MER), which fell 1.29% or 4.20 points to trade at 320.80 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 0.97% or 0.050 points to end at 5.110 and GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) was down 0.94% or 12.00 points to 1268.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 107 to 96 and 40 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.10% or 1.30 to $1271.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.43% or 0.25 to hit $58.11 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.18 to trade at $64.72 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.16% to 7.6380, while USD/PHP fell 0.16% to 50.170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 92.95.
