Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 3.00% or 48.00 points to trade at 1648.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) added 2.74% or 1.450 points to end at 54.450 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 2.33% or 0.100 points to 4.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which fell 2.08% or 27.00 points to trade at 1268.00 at the close. Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) declined 1.91% or 0.100 points to end at 5.130 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was down 1.21% or 0.220 points to 17.960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 96 to 88 and 49 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.31% or 3.80 to $1245.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.80% or 0.59 to hit $74.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.30 to trade at $77.60 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.18% to 8.0080, while USD/PHP fell 0.08% to 53.397.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.39.
