Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 11.11% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 4.52% or 0.019 points to end at 0.439 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 3.30% or 0.015 points to 0.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which fell 3.49% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.166 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 2.54% or 0.520 points to end at 19.980 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was down 2.07% or 0.120 points to 5.680.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.52% or 0.019 to 0.439.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.82% or 0.69 to $38.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.00% or 0.40 to hit $40.45 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.71% or 21.80 to trade at $1251.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.46% to 3.4247, while EUR/PEN rose 0.77% to 3.8058.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.21.
