Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.76% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 4.44% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Unacem (LM:CEL) added 1.39% or 0.030 points to end at 2.190 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was up 0.74% or 0.140 points to 19.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which fell 4.35% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.880 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 2.53% or 0.390 points to end at 15.010 and Panoro (LM:PML) was down 2.44% or 0.003 points to 0.120.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 18 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.17% or 0.59 to $49.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.04% or 0.55 to hit $52.56 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.76% or 9.15 to trade at $1200.25 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.21% to 3.2885, while EUR/PEN rose 0.49% to 3.4905.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 101.97.
