Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 3.32% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Relapasa (LM:REL) added 2.86% or 0.007 points to end at 0.252 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) was up 2.09% or 0.005 points to 0.244 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which fell 4.71% or 0.210 points to trade at 4.250 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 2.65% or 0.490 points to end at 18.010 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was down 2.55% or 0.250 points to 9.550.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.09% or 0.005 to 0.244.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.95% or 0.47 to $48.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.59% or 0.80 to hit $49.55 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1217.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3730, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7542.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.83.
