Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Lima Assorted sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General fell 0.32% to hit a new 3-year low.
The best performers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 3.36% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.154 at the close. Meanwhile, Relapasa (LM:REL) added 3.12% or 0.005 points to end at 0.165 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.63% or 0.010 points to 0.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which fell 3.29% or 0.350 points to trade at 10.300 at the close. Rio Alto Minin (LM:RIO) declined 2.85% or 0.080 points to end at 2.730 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was down 2.16% or 3.000 points to 136.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 8 to 7 and 11 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 4.24% or 2.08 to $51.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 4.63% or 2.62 to hit $59.09 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.54% or 6.50 to trade at $1203.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.29% to 3.0815, while EUR/PEN fell 0.25% to 3.3712.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 97.55.
