Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 8.61% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 17.50% or 0.350 points to trade at 2.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Sider (LM:SID) added 16.48% or 0.030 points to end at 0.212 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 14.89% or 0.700 points to 5.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 13.750 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) was 0% or 0 points to 5.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 35 to 0 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) unchanged to 52-week highs; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 13.750. Shares in Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 14.89% or 0.700 to 5.400.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.61% or 0.64 to $40.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.14% or 0.06 to hit $42.84 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.14% or 14.20 to trade at $1258.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2830, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8370.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 93.97.
