Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, S&P Lima Juniors and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 2.34% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 18.25% or 0.073 points to trade at 0.473 at the close. Meanwhile, Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 13.79% or 0.600 points to end at 4.950 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 10.42% or 0.025 points to 0.265 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ), which fell 1.82% or 0.190 points to trade at 10.240 at the close. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) declined 0.06% or 0.010 points to end at 17.000 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 6.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 23 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sider (LM:SID) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.42% or 0.025 to 0.265. Shares in Alicorp (LM:ALI) unchanged to 52-week highs; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 6.800.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.06% or 1.26 to $42.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $43.98 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.41% or 17.40 to trade at $1252.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2515, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7092.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.07.
