Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 2.27% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 12.81% or 0.410 points to trade at 3.610 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 9.50% or 0.023 points to end at 0.265 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 6.79% or 0.019 points to 0.299 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which fell 3.12% or 0.200 points to trade at 6.200 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) declined 1.89% or 0.004 points to end at 0.208 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 1.75% or 0.010 points to 0.560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 22 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atacocha (LM:ATB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.50% or 0.023 to 0.265.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 3.27% or 1.32 to $41.68 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.25% or 1.39 to hit $44.22 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1256.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.52% to 3.2660, while EUR/PEN fell 2.41% to 3.7446.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.02.
