Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 9.71% or 0.500 points to trade at 5.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 5.93% or 0.150 points to end at 2.680 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was up 5.88% or 0.140 points to 2.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which fell 7.15% or 0.470 points to trade at 6.100 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) declined 6.40% or 0.013 points to end at 0.190 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was down 2.70% or 0.050 points to 1.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 19 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 6.25% or 2.27 to $38.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $40.26 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 2.62% or 32.20 to trade at $1263.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3780, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7263.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.99% at 95.70.
