Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.01% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 13.33% or 2.460 points to trade at 20.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 11.11% or 0.060 points to end at 0.600 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 10.95% or 0.690 points to 6.990 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edelnor (LM:EDN), which fell 0.36% or 0.020 points to trade at 5.600 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) declined 0.27% or 0.010 points to end at 3.680 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was down 0.08% or 0.010 points to 12.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 24 to 4 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.65% or 0.74 to $45.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $47.19 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.64% or 8.60 to trade at $1335.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2795, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6426.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 96.10.
