Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Services and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.69% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.26% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Edegel (LM:EDE) added 3.38% or 0.090 points to end at 2.750 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 2.42% or 0.140 points to 5.920 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which fell 4.44% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.215 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 1.67% or 0.010 points to end at 0.590 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) was down 1.38% or 0.200 points to 14.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 7 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.89% or 0.86 to $44.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.21% or 2.90 to trade at $1355.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2780, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6259.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 96.58.
