Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 12.09% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) added 4.83% or 0.990 points to end at 21.500 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 4.69% or 0.030 points to 0.670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minsur (LM:MINi), which fell 1.97% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.490 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 1.96% or 0.010 points to end at 0.500 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was down 1.89% or 0.050 points to 2.600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 12 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Trevali Mining (LM:TV) rose to 52-week highs; rising 12.09% or 0.110 to 1.020. Shares in Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.83% or 0.990 to 21.500.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $47.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.30 to trade at $1183.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.08% to 3.4266, while EUR/PEN fell 0.36% to 3.6173.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 101.77.
