Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Materials and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.86%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 22.31% or 5.9 points to trade at 32.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) added 10.11% or 2.70 points to end at 29.40 and Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) was up 9.89% or 2.6 points to 28.9 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC), which fell 3.58% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.46 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 1.69% or 6.0 points to end at 349.0 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) was down 1.50% or 0.10 points to 6.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 122 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $42.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.18% or 0.08 to hit $44.61 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.09% or 13.70 to trade at $1247.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.21% to 9.2851, while USD/NOK rose 0.71% to 8.2326.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 94.76.
