Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Commercial Service And Supplies sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS), which rose 7.83% or 0.8 points to trade at 11.7 at the close. Meanwhile, Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL) added 6.93% or 3.9 points to end at 59.4 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) was up 5.43% or 1.20 points to 23.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which fell 2.37% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.65 at the close. Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OSLO:GJFS) declined 0.17% or 0.2 points to end at 116.0 and Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) was down 0.17% or 0.08 points to 47.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 120 to 55 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OSLO:GJFS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.17% or 0.2 to 116.0.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 5.14% or 2.29 to $46.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 4.01% or 1.92 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.73% or 19.10 to trade at $1121.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.60% to 9.1788, while USD/NOK fell 0.87% to 8.1227.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 95.42.
