Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Materials and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.72%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 4.22% or 1.1 points to trade at 27.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) added 4.19% or 1.27 points to end at 31.59 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was up 3.34% or 0.3 points to 9.6 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which fell 3.91% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.72 at the close. Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) declined 3.85% or 1.22 points to end at 30.46 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) was down 3.64% or 0.05 points to 1.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 118 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.21% or 0.10 to $48.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $49.82 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.34% or 17.75 to trade at $1338.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.07% to 9.2836, while USD/NOK fell 0.47% to 8.3256.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 95.62.
