Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Media and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 5.39% or 1.2 points to trade at 24.2 at the close. Meanwhile, Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) added 5.05% or 0.7 points to end at 14.6 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 3.02% or 0.50 points to 17.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which fell 2.37% or 0.70 points to trade at 28.80 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 1.46% or 4.6 points to end at 310.3 and Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) was down 1.45% or 0.75 points to 51.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 99 to 72 and 22 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.07% or 0.45 to $41.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.08% or 0.48 to hit $43.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.62% or 22.20 to trade at $1345.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.26% to 9.4231, while USD/NOK rose 0.76% to 8.5056.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.24.
