Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 2.69%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 3.04% or 0.46 points to trade at 15.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 1.92% or 0.50 points to end at 26.89 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 261.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 9.00% or 0.090 points to trade at 0.910 at the close. Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) declined 5.68% or 1.03 points to end at 17.10 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was down 5.49% or 0.220 points to 3.790.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 41 to 10 and 50 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.76% or 1.32 to $49.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.58% or 1.31 to hit $52.15 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.70 to trade at $1230.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 3.98% to 355.970, while USD/NGN fell 0.87% to 314.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 98.79.
