Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 10.23% or 1.33 points to trade at 14.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 9.82% or 0.64 points to end at 7.17 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was up 2.30% or 0.070 points to 3.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which fell 3.70% or 9.98 points to trade at 257.01 at the close. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 2.37% or 0.59 points to end at 24.31 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was down 1.46% or 1.85 points to 126.01.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 28 to 7 and 61 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.59% or 0.30 to $50.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.62% or 0.33 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.75 to trade at $1253.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.40% to 334.840, while USD/NGN fell 3.43% to 306.600.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.46.
