Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS), which rose 2.87% or 0.17 points to trade at 6.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 0.06% or 0.01 points to end at 17.71 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was up 0.02% or 0.01 points to 40.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 4.44% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.860 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) declined 1.22% or 0.010 points to end at 0.810 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was down 1.12% or 0.30 points to 26.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 21 to 7 and 63 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.13% or 0.06 to $47.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.54 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.05 to trade at $1248.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.20% to 340.130, while USD/NGN rose 0.32% to 317.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 99.43.
