Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT), which rose 1.78% or 0.43 points to trade at 24.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) added 1.67% or 0.25 points to end at 15.27 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 1.49% or 0.01 points to 0.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which fell 2.78% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) declined 2.35% or 0.13 points to end at 5.41 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was down 1.77% or 0.020 points to 1.110.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 18 to 15 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) fell to all time lows; down 1.77% or 0.020 to 1.110.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.77% or 0.81 to $46.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.57% or 0.76 to hit $49.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.59% or 7.95 to trade at $1355.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 1.24% to 355.500, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 321.500.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.85% at 94.77.
