Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which rose 3.82% or 0.82 points to trade at 22.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) added 1.56% or 0.79 points to end at 51.50 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was up 1.02% or 0.15 points to 14.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 4.21% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.910 at the close. Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) declined 1.28% or 0.19 points to end at 14.61 and Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 14.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 24 to 12 and 66 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.30% or 0.15 to $49.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.42% or 0.22 to hit $52.35 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.95% or 12.20 to trade at $1265.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.19% to 342.420, while USD/NGN fell 3.76% to 305.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 98.59.
