Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT), which rose 3.23% or 0.85 points to trade at 27.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) added 2.74% or 19.99 points to end at 750.00 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was up 2.51% or 0.09 points to 3.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which fell 4.99% or 3.32 points to trade at 63.18 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 3.50% or 0.49 points to end at 13.30 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was down 3.49% or 0.030 points to 0.830.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 22 to 13 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.23% or 0.85 to 27.15.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.51% or 0.25 to $49.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.74 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1233.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.28% to 329.480, while USD/NGN fell 2.28% to 310.250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.16.
