Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which rose 1.04% or 0.50 points to trade at 46.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) added 1.01% or 0.010 points to end at 1.010 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) was up 0.96% or 0.07 points to 7.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 4.30% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.890 at the close. Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) declined 2.39% or 0.10 points to end at 4.10 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was down 1.85% or 5.00 points to 265.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 22 to 21 and 55 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.84% or 0.91 to $50.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.87% or 0.98 to hit $53.49 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.03 to trade at $1252.77 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 3.48% to 351.370, while USD/NGN fell 1.49% to 314.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 97.11.
