Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 4.07% or 0.73 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) added 3.97% or 0.17 points to end at 4.49 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was up 3.38% or 0.49 points to 15.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which fell 4.35% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.660 at the close. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 3.45% or 2.00 points to end at 56.00 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was down 1.69% or 0.11 points to 6.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 22 to 17 and 45 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.30% or 1.57 to $46.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.58% or 1.79 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.75 to trade at $1335.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.27% to 354.470, while USD/NGN fell 0.32% to 314.500.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 95.41.
