Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 3.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 0.05% or 0.004 points to trade at 7.577 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group (AMS:NN) fell 0.38% or 0.11 points to end at 28.88 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was down 0.49% or 0.13 points to 26.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 8.17% or 1.07 points to trade at 12.09 at the close. Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) declined 6.31% or 2.62 points to end at 39.01 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was down 5.35% or 4.83 points to 85.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 198 to 19.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.17% or 1.07 to 12.09.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 22.84% to 22.32 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.39% or 0.17 to $43.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.73% or 0.36 to hit $50.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.40% or 15.50 to trade at $1123.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.32% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.86% to 0.7154.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.16% at 96.11.
