Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 2.44% or 1.29 points to trade at 54.15 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 0.80% or 0.17 points to end at 22.12 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 0.75% or 0.43 points to 57.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which fell 2.69% or 0.41 points to trade at 14.85 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.95% or 0.38 points to end at 18.84 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was down 1.36% or 1.45 points to 105.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 66 to 63 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.80% or 0.17 to 22.12.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.31% to 15.04.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.49% or 0.78 to $53.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.44% or 0.80 to hit $56.27 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.45% or 5.25 to trade at $1167.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.0479, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8502.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 102.55.
