Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 0.93% or 0.140 points to trade at 15.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Philips Kon (AS:PHG) added 0.64% or 0.20 points to end at 32.13 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 0.51% or 0.34 points to 66.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 4.37% or 3.580 points to trade at 78.320 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 3.02% or 0.218 points to end at 7.001 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was down 2.08% or 0.88 points to 41.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 54 and 14 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.66% to 13.34.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.23% or 0.11 to $47.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.48 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.54% or 6.84 to trade at $1250.16 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0917, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8456.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 98.94.
